Up Close with Xiaomi’s Electric Car: The SU7 is Clear Proof of the Brand’s Future

We are in the midst of MWC 2024, the technology fair par excellence. One in which mobile phones should be the main protagonists, especially at the stand of a company as important as Xiaomi. Among Redmi phones, POCO and home accessories, the main protagonist had little to do with them: it was a Xiaomi, but it had four wheels. I have been able to see the Xiaomi SU7 up close for the first time, the company’s first electric car and proof that the brand is no longer just one that makes phones, wearables and home devices, it is a company that wants to have the most complete ecosystem on the market.

Spectacular. This is how the Xiaomi SU7 looks in its unit manufactured for China. A sedan almost five meters long, with a 664 hp engine and the HyperOS system inside. The unit exhibited at the Fira was the blue one, which looks exactly the same as the renders we saw at the official presentation of this electric car. The variant that Xiaomi has shown is the SU7 Max, the flagship model within this SU7 model. The main difference between the standard Su7 and the SU7 Max is that the latter is the most capable in terms of range and engine.
